A few thoughts by Felix Vollmann:
Taking a photo of someone or something fascinates me in a way that is hard for me to explain. Capturing a moment that is beautiful in its own way.
Seeing a symmetry or not, a composition that is pleasant for the eye. Shocking in a way or deceiving. A space to think. Faces shaped like landscapes, landscapes shaped by life, by nature. Human interactions and movements in the streets.
It is the usual that interests me. Not looking for something outstanding or spectacular. Rather, everyday life. Humans and their creations, be it architecture, a movement or a facial expression. In my previous career I have been working with several international organizations like the United Nations and European Union where I documented projects of globalization: in fields of urbanization, human settlement, refugees and various humanitarian projects in Vietnam, China, Belize, Mozambique, Burkina Faso, South Africa, Kenya, Comoros, Sao tome and Principe.
I am happy to present to you ‘Listening’ my first collection that is released as NFTs.
Listening with my Leica M9, I wander between the digital and analogue world.
My background is in making films and my team and I decided to add an extra layer on top of the photos to enable a listening experience that is very intimate,
and is only happening in your imagination.
